# Is drone-runner-exec discontinued?

[GitHub - drone-runners/drone-runner-exec: Experimental Drone pipeline runner that executes builds directly on the host machine](https://github.com/drone-runners/drone-runner-exec) is archived, and I can’t find an announcement.

Hi @bbigras it is not being actively developed no - it can still be used however.

We generally try to guide users towards the docker runner as much as possible!
