# Plugin updates on pushing docker hub tag

I’m pushing the latest and vX.X.X tags to docker hub, and my pipelines reference `image: lucap/drone-now` without a tag.  
The plugin image is never updated to his latest tag…

you can add the `pull: true` attribute to your step

```diff
pipeline:
  foo:
    image: foo/bar
+ pull: true

```

Is there a internal documentation on that ?

Not necessarily. We have begun recommending versioned plugins as a best practice as opposed to using the latest tag. This helps teams create more reproducible pipelines, and helps avoid breaking changes.

```diff
pipeline:
  slack:
- image: plugins/slack:latest
+ image: plugins/slack:1.0

```
