could not read Username for ‘https://github.com’: No such device or address
Failed for private repo on github, and there is no problem when I change the repo’s visibility to public.
Urgently want to know why

Could you please confirm the user with which the repository was activated has access on this repo when you make that repo private.
You can reactivate the repo with same user on drone side and see if that helps, or share the below details for further troubleshooting:
- Webhook request/response
- Drone server trace logs
